Made to Evolve
What if running were taken from you? Would you still love the sport? Would you still identify as a runner? Would you continue to show up for races?
These are questions that JulieAnn Villa faced when a cancer treatment took away her ability to run. Courageously, she has stepped into a new running identity and into the role of emcee of this race. Before you see her at the starting line on Saturday morning, join her for this talk about women’s ever-changing roles as runners, and much more.
4-5 pm | Free for all race participants | Garver Feed Mill, 3241 Garver Green
Made to Inspire
How have the past two years changes you and helped you figure out what really matters, be it in your running practice, relationships, work, family, values or just everyday life?
Join Lindsey Hein, Toni Carey and Mel Charbonneau for an honest and real-talk conversation on the importance of reclaiming our stories, working hard for goals we love and meeting ourselves exactly where we are right now.
Toni, Lindsey and Mel will dive into this conversation, sharing their own personal transformations and aha moments in fitness, running, mental health, friendships and peace, and how they are reclaiming and owning what truly matters in their lives.

Shower, rest and get ready to celebrate the weekend! This get-together will honor your accomplishments on the race course and your journey to get to the start line. We’ll laugh, toast and enjoy our time when we can — finally! — gather and be together. Each event ticket includes a cocktail or mocktail.

The UW Arboretum’s “Arb Loop” is one of Madison’s most iconic running routes — a 6.2-mile path that leads you counter-clockwise alongside Lake Wingra, past fields, into shady woods and through a charming neighborhood.
All races will start and finish in the same spot, near the Henry Vilas Park at 1602 Vilas Park Dr., Madison.
Our race courses will be marked and have cones for added safety, but outside of our finish/start area, it will not be closed to traffic. That said, the majority of this course is through the Arboretum with limited (and slow) traffic.
The course has three major hills spaced out pretty nicely throughout the route. You will travel mostly on multi-use path, sidewalk and some lightly traveled road sections. And you may even encounter some friendly wild turkeys!
We will have hydration and aid stations positioned throughout the course. And runners may use the Henry Vilas park shelter bathrooms as well as a porta jon near the UW Arboretum Visitor Center.
Our signature 10K makes one pass through the Arb loop course — a must-do running experience in Madison!
Our 5K is perfect for runners and walkers alike, and stroller-friendly as well. The course offers great views throughout some of Madison’s most charming neighborhoods.
Our brand-new half marathon takes two loops through the Arboretum, which means you get to run through our amazing cheer zone at the start, midway point and finish. If 13.1 is YOUR race, you won’t want to miss this one.
All events will be timed by Race Day Events.

Hundreds of women raced virtually with us last year, and found the experience to be filled with support, camaraderie and celebration.
This year, our 10K, 5K and half-marathon distances all are offered virtually. Simply choose your distance and run on your own turf and your own timing!
But please consider our many options for finding connection through the Made to Move experience. Racing virtually doesn’t have to mean training or running alone.
MADE TO LIFT
We are committed to being part of the solution for breaking down the barriers that prevent and exclude women from running and racing and to becoming a rubric for what’s possible in the race industry as we rethink traditional models of how it’s always been done.
We launched our Made to Lift Fund last year to directly support women who could not otherwise register for Made to Move. We know that running is not free. We also understand that many women are finding themselves in a moment of unprecedented financial hardship, and while Made to Move is exactly what they need, the cost of racing is simply out of reach in this moment.
A percentage of every race registration goes directly into the Made to Lift fund. As women who can register at full price do so, it builds the fund to support women who cannot. This is the definition of women supporting women.
If you or a woman you know could use a lift right now, please do not hesitate to utilize one of our scholarship spots. It’s simple to choose during the registration process.
And if you or your business are interested in directly giving to the Made to Lift fund, please contact Jen at email@example.com.
